And don't forget to bring some choccy biccies.

Change of Club Day

Well lads it's that time of year again.

The nights are drawing in, the daylight is fast fading and I'm starting to get scared of all the rustling noises that I hear out there in the inky darkness out beyond the 55 yard targets.

So.

Starting 4th October we'll be switching to Sunday afternoons.

It also means that we're moving into the winter season and Christmas is approaching. So you've all got plenty of time to start saving up to buy me a nice present .

SARPA HFT Championship - Sept 2009

What are you guys like? An excellent turnout gents: I take my "still" badgeless cap off to you all . I think our next purchase will need to be a minibus

Congratulations to:

- Greig, 1st prize junior

- Bill, 2nd prize recoiling

and

awesome Ian and his trusty '97. 1st prize recoiling (55/60)

Congrats also to Derek(the new Champ), Khalid(the runner up) and the others who picked up placings. Well done fellas.

I'm sure we all enjoyed it and want to thank Westfield (and their wummin folk) for the day oot. Heck we even managed to give "faither" (King Kenny of the standers) a wee hurl in the sunshine .

Sept 2009

Short and simple lads.

Terrific effort: everyone did something.

Great course:some targets were so far out they had a different postcode.

Great grub: The "PieMeister" did us proud.

August 2009

The new 'West Stand' is nearing completion lads so a big thank you and well done to all for their help with the construction work (especially Davy "two badges", George and Bill).

This modern state-of-the-art facility (with it's vastly increased headroom) will undoubtedly prove extremely popular with club members and is very likely to be somewhat over-subscribed when it finally opens later this month. Consequently the Club Committee has decided that only shooters over 5'10" will be allowed to use this capacious, luxurious, comfortable and well equipped development.

This was a very difficult decision to make folks but after several seconds of debate the committee agreed (by majority vote: 4 to 1) that this was in the best interests of most of us. Unfortunately "Wee Bill" felt he could not support the rest of the Committee on this important issue but "Hey who cares" .

As a result Bill and his old fashioned, steam powered springer will forever be banished to the dusty corner of the "South Stand" next to Oscar the spider and the rubbish bin .

Finally, would those over 5'10" who wish to purchase a season ticket, debenture or corporate entertainment box in the new stand please contact the club secretary.

Thank you

17.5.09 HFT

A terrific effort gents. A well organised, well run event with all the mod-cons laid on for our guests.

Plenty of reducers, awkward standers, difficult kneelers, tricky prone shots and a fair amount of wind undoubtedly made this the most testing HFT course this year.

Much respect to those who were up for it: especially Derek who battled through to win the open event and Bert and Davy who pushed him all the way.

Congratulations also go to the juniors Grieg, Sam and Robert who put in very good scores considering the tough nature of the course.

All in all a successful day chaps. Time to put your feet up for a while and enjoy the rest of the season.

26.4.09 FT

Well done the New Kypeside guys - a good turn out and everyone did their bit. A special thanks to Big D who must have walked miles up and down the course over the two days and to Bill 'the Piemeister' for his skills in the kitchen. Congratulations also to Chris and George for winning their respective groups - I guess it won't be long before we see that badge on the club chairmans bunnet (we'll never hear the end of it now)  .

-------------------------------------

Just to let you know guys "Summer has arrived in South Lanarkshire " and as of 14th April we are back to our regular slot of 6.30pm on Tuesday evenings.

The long winter evenings are nothing but a distant memory and there's no need to be scared of the dark any more 'cause the light nights are here

--------------------------------------

A well deserved pat on the back gents for the good turnout at the recent Dechmont HFT on 15.3.09.

It was good to see all the usual friendly, and not so friendly , faces on show.

I think it's fair to say that we all enjoyed 'oor' day 'oot' and the banter/slagging that ensues every time they let 'us lot' loose for a while.

It was especially pleasing to see one or two of our members greet fellow competitors with the now official "New Kypeside ARC Salute" - see Big D for a demonstration .

In addition to: having a good time, drinking lots of tea, eating a few burgers and missing plenty of targets, we also managed steal lots and lots of Dechmonts mud for our own shooting ground . Shhhh....don't tell them or they'll charge us for it

Just a quick reminder that we are off to "Dunny"fermline in two weeks time for the Kingdom Cup where we hope to drink more tea, eat more burgers, miss even more targets and acquire one or two trees to decorate our range

It's back to the practice targets next week lads - same time, same place. Judging by some of the scores we need it

Our shoot calendar for the 2009 season has now been posted in the meetings & competitions section.
